Our History

While at the Harvard Kennedy School for a Master in Public Administration, Prosper Mama Africa founder and CEO, David Lukwago, invited several of his classmates to join him in developing a new model for ending extreme poverty in his home country of Uganda.

Our team of professionals with diverse expertise in agricultural engineering, international development, and non-profit management is working to address one of the root causes of poverty in Africa.

With a majority of the workforce in agriculture, one pathway to sustainable social and economic development in African is through sustained production and increased productivity of rural farming communities.
With PMA’s support, rural communities own and manage their own projects, with secured buy-in from local customary and religious officials and a cadre of community leaders.
PMA helps train rural farmers on modern farming techniques and farm management, provides high-quality agricultural inputs that increase yield, give access to modern agricultural equipment that increases productivity, and trains farmers in financial and business management.
